Raha Shahbazian, AMFT
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) at the Avedian Counseling Center and Anger Management 818, Raha Shahbazian specializes in helping individuals and couples transform intense emotions into opportunities for growth. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and joined the practice in early 2026, where she is supervised by Chrys Gkotsi, LMFT.
Raha facilitates weekly anger management groups, providing a structured and supportive environment for those looking to improve impulse control and emotional regulation. Her psychodynamic approach helps participants explore the underlying experiences and relational patterns that trigger frustration and conflict. By identifying these roots, she empowers clients to replace reactive behaviors with healthier communication and coping strategies.
A central passion of Raha’s work is helping partners navigate high-conflict dynamics. She is deeply invested in helping couples work through resentments, repair trust, and build more secure attachments. Whether you are facing cultural or generational challenges or seeking to fulfill a court-ordered requirement through anger management classes, Raha offers a safe space to explore your story with empathy and without judgment.
Having migrated to the United States herself, Raha brings cultural sensitivity to her work with diverse populations. She provides anger management in Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills in both Farsi and English.
